When travelling, things you don’t plan for amaze you more. That’s the feeling we got when driving through one of the deadliest road in the world, unintentionally.
You cannot write an article encompassing every detail on the topic. You must narrow down the scope of your writing before you begin. Focus on the essentials.
I just crossed 100 blogs posts. Here is a self-reflection of my blogging journey, and what I hope to achieve in the next 100. From writing more to writing well.
In his book “On Writing – A Memoir of the Craft”, Stephen King showed me a writer’s journey, his own journey, that helped me understand the craft a bit better.
Every profession has a toolbox that helps with their work. Writing is no different. Here is how I am building my writing toolbox following Stephen King’s guidelines.
Everyone has interesting stories in their life. Write them. It’s a good opportunity to practice story-telling while writing, and document the interesting moments of life.
An action is either deliberate or opportunistic. For an action to have any meaningful impact in our life, we must make it deliberate, instead of just relying on luck.
Another tool to cut down the non-essentials: Understanding that opportunities are not equal. Even good opportunities can be a distraction. Eliminate them.
