I have some relatives visiting me who want to see Scotland. So I prepared the following road trip route for them: Google Map Route. It was my first time creating a custom map using Google Maps. It’s nice to see the route visually like this.
It’s going to be my first time driving 1000+ miles. I hope my poor back will be able to endure this torture. There better be some good scenic views in Scotland to make it worth all the pain!
It’s a 6-day circular trip from London. Here is a rough summary:
- Day 1: London to Lake District
- Stop by at Peak District, Ladybower Reservoir, Derwent Dam View Point, and Snake Pass.
- Day 2: Lake District to Fort William
- Stop by Loch Lomond and activities around it.
- Day 3: Fort William to the Isle of Sky
- Stop by Eilean Donan Castle, Port Tree, and Lealt Falls, and circle around the island.
- Day 4: Isle of Skye to Inverness
- Stop by at Falls Of Measach and Loch Ness.
- Day 5: Inverness to New Castle upon Tyne
- Stop by Edinburgh
- Day 6: New Castle upon Tyne to London
