Typically, nobody cares about the order of events.
Explaining in chronological order is lazy communication. It puts the burden of filtering important information on the listener/reader.
It’s more effective for the explainer to highlight the important points since they understand the complete picture.
When you don’t adhere to chronological order, you can:
- Re-organize related events together to create a more seamless story.
- Edit ruthlessly to eliminate non-essential events.
You can note down chronological events separately for the interested folks if needed. For everyone else, avoid explaining events in chronological order. Put in some effort to make your message more concise.
