I have recently started using Google Calendar more. I am trying to color-code it to reflect my values.
While it’s going great, I am starting to see some of its shortcomings. Luckily, I am not the only one who has noticed the missing features. The kind souls of the internet have already created many Chrome Extensions to alleviate some of the pain points of Google Calendar.
I have personally started using the following two Google Calendar Extensions:
- Google Calendar Quick Duplicate: I can’t believe Google Calendar doesn’t have this feature already. I often need to duplicate my events and Google Calendar requires multiple clicks for it. This solves that problem by having an icon on the event that automates the clicks for duplicating the event. Then I can just drag the new event to its correct time.
- Hide Morning in Calendar: I don’t have too many events between midnight and 6 AM so I would rather hide them instead of scrolling through them.
There are still a few more features I would have loved to see. For example, an extension that extracted all my color-coded events and showed me insights regarding which color of event occurred most this week. That would be nice. More numbers about me!
Anyways, Color Coded Google Calendar + these two extensions are good enough for what I am trying to do at the moment. Probably it was good enough without the extensions too, but they made things more convenient.
